West Hollywood West and the Norma Triangle have 1920s–30s Spanish bungalows and duplexes with arched windows and wood casements on forty-foot lots. The blocks between Santa Monica Boulevard and Fountain are courtyard apartments and 1960s–80s condo buildings. Kings Road, Doheny and the streets near the Design District are newer townhomes with balconies, glass rails and floor-to-ceiling sliders.
Single-family homes here have fewer panes than a Valley house but tighter access — a side yard three feet wide, a neighbor’s wall six feet from the glass.
